Grief of being alone by John McCarthy

Loneliness is the curse of the masses

Never so many never such isolation

can we extend the hand can we

open our arms risk exposure of the heart

See he who walks in the dark

alone greet her who turns away

seek those who shut the door welcome

those we see but ignore.

Change from hurried ignorance

to calm harbour of acknowledgment

experience the beauty of giving in

a simple embrace

Aloneness in isolated loneliness

is a developing being that

organically grows matures into

 rotting morass of chocking disability.

Sunlight out of despairs darkness

can radiate from a simple smile,

that smile a passport to happiness

for your fellow traveller.

So smile as you pass. Cross

the others road with your happiness.

Soul shine your love from eyes that

sparkle connect bring peace and

be

content.

  • Hello Anybody Home

Open the door turn on the light
    Check to see everythings alright
No where were you or there you are
How in God’s name did it go this far

Roll a smoke make the tea
Oh how I’d love some company
Drinking my tea having a smoke
Phone don’t ring still I don’t loose hope

Look out the window for inspiration
    All I feel is recrimination
Gather my thoughts can’t help but wonder
Loneliness is the worse form of hunger

Go to bed say my prayers
They relieve my worries and cares
Fall to sleep after a fashion
    Loneliness is my constant companion

I thought I was the only one with a sense of humuor about my mental health or sometimes lack of it ( health ). How refreshing, maybe even life saving for some to come across John on T.V. the other night. It was Manna from Heaven.
